Six Month Checkup

So I took the doodlebug to the doctor yesterday for her six month visit. All was pretty well, but the doctor did decide to put Valen on some new higher calorie formula for a month. She is 13 pounds 9 1/2 ounces and 26 inches long. The doctor wants to see if the new formula will help her gain a little weight, but she did say that it wasn't a huge deal, she will just be long and thin apparently. She has a little cold right now, but no ear infection and no virus that the doctor could tell.

Valen is so amazing, she changes every single day. She is practically days away from sitting up on her own, she can do so now with our help and for a few moments without us or the couch supporting her. She is on stage two baby foods and loves to open her mouth wide when we're feeding her. She makes a number of vowel sounds and we think we've heard a ma-ma here and there and we definitely think we've heard, "Hey!". She is in love with her jumparoo and she just goes crazy when we put her in it. She loves to stand up and will stay that way for as long as we let her. She is starting the 'Your Baby Can Read' program and hopefully after a month or two I'll be able to report some really amazing progress, so stay tuned for that!

I'm going to post some new pictures and video of her. In the video, we were watching American Idol. Valen was playing in her jumparoo, paying no mind to the TV until this one singer came on. It was so funny to see her jerk her head towards the TV everytime we would back the show up and play that part from the beginning! Enjoy!

Love to everyone!
