Wow! It's been over seven months since I updated this blog! I'm a facebook addict, so I've been uploading pictures of the doodlebug to my account there and I have totally neglected this blog!
Valen is TWO years old now which is so crazy for me to say, and Piper will be making her debut in less than three weeks. We are so ready to meet that little lady. Valen has been a very good big sister in training so far, she talks to my belly every single day and she makes sure to say, "Hi Pipey-baby!" when she is doing so! I have a feeling that will be Piper's nickname for a long time!
Valen is growing up so fast, she was 26 lbs. at her two year checkup and she is 35 in. She is growing up to be such a smart, sassy, hilarious little girl. I am thinking of starting a completely separate blog for her Valen-isms, but I don't know if anyone would even read it. I guess I could always have it to show her one day, so I'll post a link if I decide to create a dedicated page for that.
I'll share just a few humorous things she did today. We went shopping on the Army base (Jarrod still has privileges because he is an inactive reservist) and Valen asked us for a Buzz Lightyear stuffed doll. Jarrod was in a sweet Daddy mood and got it for her. When we were checking out, she told the cashier that he was "Buzz Light" which sounded an awful lot like "Bud Light"! It was pretty funny.
Then we walked next door to the commissary to get a few groceries and the first place we started shopping was the bakery/deli section. We saw the cupcakes immediately and Valen declared, "Ummm cupcake, ummm GOOD!"and proceeded to rub her belly and smack her lips! She is such a character. Then she wanted desperately to hold an apple, we were getting some anyway, so we let her. But every person that stopped us to tell us how pretty she is and to say hi to her, she decided to tell them about the, "Yemen" she was holding. I'm not sure why she decided to call it a lemon, but when I would ask her what it was she told me it was an apple without skipping a beat. I think she is messing with us all.
Anyway, here are some pictures from the first half of 2010. There are literally hundreds more, but this will have to do for now! And I guess I need to change the name of the blog to And Baby Makes FOUR, but we'll see what the name turns out to be!
