First Doctor's Visit

Monday, September 8th was Valen's first doctor's appointment! She now weighs 10 pounds 8 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long! She gained four pounds and four inches in two months! The doctor thinks she will be tall and thin which I love to hear!

Her hemangioma looks pretty normal, but V still has to go get an ultrasound and an x-ray just to make sure that there is nothing beneath the skin that we need to be worried about. I'm not sure when that appointment will be, but I will keep things updated on here.

She also got her first set of shots. I think it was more traumatizing for me than it was for her! She cried of course, but the last shot was oral and the nurse said it tastes like a grape Now and Later, and he gave her that one last. She seemed to calm right down while she was drinking that stuff! We gave her some baby Tylenol after the shots and she was pretty out of it for the rest of the day, but she seems just fine today, silly and laughing as usual.

Her next appointment is in two months and I'm excited to see how much she grows! She is still wearing newborn sized clothes, but she has moved up to the size one diapers. She is just so long and skinny! I can't wait for her to move to her three month clothes, they are just SO cute!

She smiles a LOT more now, especially at Jarrod, and she is making more new noises everyday. She still sleeps with us in her positioner, but we wouldn't have it any other way right now! While she is in her bouncer, she has started to kick her legs and make herself bounce which really makes her (and me!) happy! She is still doing great taking showers with us and she is just changing so much right before our eyes! She is really an amazing little angel! I'll keep everyone updated as much as she allows it! We love everyone! :)
